THE HEALING PROCESS
Permanent Makeup is the art of using needles to apply pigment on the dermal layer of the skin. This process essentially wounds the skin, causing the skin to go through a healing process. Similar to everyone’s unique response to pain, each individual heals differently as well. Some may experience swelling, while others will not. Some may take just a few days to heal while others take up to 2 weeks to heal. In general the following outlines what to expect:

 

BROWS: Powdered Method
First 2-5 Days: The color will get DARKER as it begins to form a scab.  You will receive an ointment to apply as an aftercare.
Next 5-8 Days: The scabs will begin to peel off in sections. DO NOT PICK OFF THE SCABS as it will pull the pigment out with it.
Next 8-10 Days: Not always, but usually, at this point all the scabs have fallen off and you should see the color resting under the skin.  The color will continue to fade with time.

 

BROWS: Hairstroke/Embroidery Method
Similar to the powdered method, your brows will initially look darker.  Most people do not scab, rather their brows get dry and flakey.  It can take up to 2 weeks for the brows to heal.  DO NOT PICK during this time or you will lose pigment.
Remember, not everyone heals at the same rate.  To be on the safe side, don’t book your appointment before a really big event.
